Groundwater | Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) | Trainings

HYDROLOGY

WRC has intensive experience in hydrometrics or the measurement of water in its different occurrences in the hydrologic cycle.

Surface water
Rainfall measurements
Evaporation measurements
Runoff measurements
Water balance (budget) determination
In Region 7, WRC operates more than 100 rainfall montoring stations, seven of which have evaporation gauges. The active river discharge monitoring stations more than 10, five of which are equipped with a data logger (a diver) which records water levels continuously.

 GROUNDWATER

The study of groundwater is tightly intertwined with the understanding of the soil and rock formation in which groundwater moves. Many pieces of geohydrological information are collected as WRC performs the following:

georesistivity surveys
aquifier capacity evaluation
well inventory
groundwater quantity & quality monitoring

 Integrated Water Resources Managemen (IWRM)

WRC conducts research, planning, and studies on soil erosion and sediment transport, drainage, water balance, water budget, groundwater recharge, slope stabilization, runoff control.

 TRAININGS

Hands-on trainings, short courses, workshops are designed and conducted by WRC according to specific needs. Topics center on the fundamentals of hydrology, hydrometrics, application of softwares and models in hydrological data processing, validation and analysis.
